James Latter

James is a Photographer and Filmmaker who started his career in the live music scene. This trial by metal gig pyrotechnics fire has forged his artistic eye.

Starting out in 2015 after graduating from QUT’s Fine Arts Film course, firstly solely as a videographer. He first picked up a stills camera in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic to photograph friend’s house shows & dive bar punk gigs. He has continued to work in the music industry, thriving in the chaotic pits and moshes.

Since then his work has taken him to all corners of Australia, documenting music festivals and artists on tour, as well as commercial filmmaking. James has an interest in documenting subcultures, and those who live their lives on their own terms. Whether it be metal festivals deep in the Australian outback, or those in rural towns with stories to tell.

James recently completed directing his first feature film, “Fascination Street”, due for release some time in 2026.
